Poem Renaissance – John Peter Beck

Poem Renaissance

Gyroscope Review is celebrating National Poetry Month with a Poem Renaissance, a review of previously published poems looking for new life and new views. Every day through May 20th, a new poem to fall in love with all over again.

Loaf
by John Peter Beck

The sun has finished
the loaf,

white, crusty, hard,
warming now

on the patio table
outside the coffee shop.

The early thaw
glistens the rounded top

and the day slices away
layer by layer

this perfect serving
of snow.

"Loaf", was published for Poetry Month (they did a daily poem) by Lansing On-line News in 2010
